Class usually starts at 9 o’clock. It started at 10 o’clock yesterday. 4. Tom and Roberta live in Chatswood now. They lived in Ashfield in 1999. Information Verbs ending in – y change to – ied. I study English. I studied French last year. Verbs with short vowels and a consonant double the consonant. The bus usually stops at the park. The bus stopped at the shops yesterday. 2 Irregular verbs Some verbs are irregular (not regular) verbs. We don’t add –ed for the past simple tense.
