Listen to hear about different ways students learn. 2. Read their words. People learn in different ways. Some people like to learn in the classroom. But other people don't enjoy the classroom and learn best when they do practical things. How do people learn English? Some students are very visual and like to see pictures or real things. Other students learn best when they can listen. Most people learn best when they can see and hear at the same time. For some students new vocabulary is very important. For others, grammar is more important. Tests and exams are important for some students so they can see how much they are learning. And other students prefer to learn only English that will help them in their jobs! Anna Jung Ho Joseph Helen Anna I really like learning new words. I like to listen to and repeat the new words to learn them. At home at night I write a list of the new words I learned in class. I'm Russian and I write the Russian words next to the English words. I think vocabulary is the most important thing in learning English. Jung Ho I want to be a businessman so my English must be very good. I must write very well in my job so I need to learn a lot of grammar. In the classroom the teacher can explain the grammar and we can do some exercises. This helps me to learn it. Joseph I really enjoy working in groups. When I work with other students we can help each other. They can teach me new things and ways to learn. I don't care if I make mistakes! We can speak together and practise our English! Helen I think I need to learn a lot of new words. I like to see the words on the whiteboard. And I like to see pictures of the words.
