When we describe our leisure activities we can say: 1. verb + (noun) a lot practise the guitar I surf the Internet He eats out a lot. 'A lot' has the same meaning as often. 2. (verb) a lot of (noun) I action movies. They basketball games. We watch a lot of TV. My daughter watches a lot of cartoons on TV. Information We play • musical instruments (e.g. guitar, drums) • sports, games (e.g. table tennis, golf) • other games (e.g. chess, computer games) 3. Spend time + verb + ing I a lot of gardening.
