I meant to phone you earlier but it slipped my mind. I was going to come up, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it. I’m really sorry. I can’t get away because my mother’s arriving from Germany. She wanted to come last month but she got very sick, so she cancelled her flight. I phoned her so that we could arrange a new date but she had already re-booked her ticket. Guess when she’s coming? Her plane arrives as the same day as your party. Can you believe it?
