Look at the pairs of sentences below. 2. For each pair, link sentence 1 to sentence 2 to make one sentence. 3. Use the past perfect in the first part of the sentence. 4. Join the sentences with “and”. Example Sentence 1 Sentence 2 She finished her course. She was looking for a job. She had finished her course and was looking for a job. Sentence 1 Sentence 2 He studied for six long years. He was now looking forward to the end. The company grew. They were looking for more staff. She promised to marry him. She was waiting for him to return. Spring came early. Our crops were growing well. A stranger came to the village. People were afraid of him. A storm came up. The fishing boats were still out at sea. They bought a new car. They were planning a camping holiday.  WRITING 05 Let’s write a story In this you are going to write a story together. Your teacher will give you a piece of paper with the first sentence on it. 1. Read the first sentence with your partner. On the next line, write a sentence to continue the story. Fold the story so that only your sentence can be seen. 2. Pass the story to the next pair. 3. Add a sentence to the story you are given.
