LANGUAGE FOCUS 03 What's in a paragraph?
In this activity we will look at what makes a good paragraph.
A paragraph is a group of sentences that talks about one idea. Paragraphs are made
up of a topic sentence and supporting sentences.
Topic sentences are usually at the beginning of the paragraph and they show the main
idea of the paragraph. They tell the reader what the paragraph will be about. The
supporting sentences give more detail about the main idea.
