LANGUAGE FOCUS 04 As if and as though
Jake says:
I felt this really strange sensation, as though someone was watching me.
Jake uses "as though someone was watching me" to help the listeners understand
better how he was feeling.
"As though someone was watching me" is an adverbial clause of manner. Adverbial
clauses of manner are often used with verbs describing the senses.
