Position of non-finite clauses of purpose
The position of non-finite clauses of purpose depends on what we want our listeners or
readers to focus on (pay most attention to). If we want them to focus on the information
in the clause of purpose, we might put it first. Usually, however, the purpose clause
goes after the main clause.
When we put the adverbial clause before the main clause, we need to put a comma
after the adverbial clause.

LANGUAGE FOCUS 07 Talking about quantity
In this activity you will learn how to talk about quantities.
To talk about quantity (how much/many) we use general determiners. We use general
determiners before a noun when we want to talk in a general way about things or
people - when we don't want to talk about exact numbers or quantities.
1. Some and any
Zahra says:
Put some herbs, like parsley or coriander, on it to make it look nice.
Zahra tells Alex to put herbs on the dish but she does not say exactly how many herbs.
She says, "put some herbs …"
We can use some before uncountable nouns or plural countable nouns.
We use some in positive statements. We also use some when we offer or request
things.
