LANGUAGE FOCUS 02 Describing emotions
This activity shows you how to describe your emotions - how you feel about
different events or situations.
1. Adjectives
Jackie says:
Jackie: …I felt quite disappointed. I mean, they can't sing.
Claudia says:
Claudia: I felt excited when the lights came on and the boys jumped out
of that box onto the stage.
Jackie says:
Jackie: But after the first hour, I was pretty bored…
Claudia and Jackie say how they felt at different times in the concert. Claudia felt
'excited' and Jackie felt 'disappointed' and 'bored'.
We can use adjectives like excited, disappointed and bored with the verbs 'to be'
and 'to feel' to describe our emotions.
