everyday conversation.

Though they couldn't sing,

When we put the adverbial clause before the main clause, we need to put a comma
after the adverbial clause.

2. Even though she liked him, she didn't want to marry him.
3. While English may be an easy language to speak, it is very difficult to
write well.
4. He loves the beach even though he can't swim.
5. They often catch the train even though they have a car.
2. Adverbial clauses of manner
Jackie says:
Jackie: No, they're not. They sang like they were robots.
Jackie compares the singing of the Backstreet Boys to robots. She uses like to
describe the way they sang.
like they were robots is an adverbial clause of manner.
